Mountains and Hills
My first book (2018, published by "Self-Publishing – Publishing House.” Editor: Yoav Gilboa) consists of a cycle of fifteen love poems spread over magnificent landscapes and wild nature. This short book describes a bittersweet youthful love, first heartbreak, and the constant search for love. The book also features beautiful illustrations by Tali Genshaft, adding an extra dimension to the work.

בַּזְּמַן שֶׁאִישׁ לֹא עָבַר כָּאן
הַצִּמְחִיָּה צָמְחָה פֶּרֶא,
וְכִמְעַט לֹא נִתָּן לִרְאוֹת
אֶת הַשְּׁבִיל שֶׁפַּעַם הָיָה.
כְּשֶׁנִּפְגַּשְׁנוּ סִפַּרְתְּ לִי
אוֹדוֹת הַיַּעֲרָן שֶׁגָּר כָּאן בֶּעָבָר
סִפַּרְתְּ, שֶׁבְּכָל בֹּקֶר,
הָיָה מְנַכֵּשׁ עֲשָׂבִים שׁוֹטִים
שֶׁצָּמְחוּ בְּצַד הַדֶּרֶךְ
וּמֵאָז שֶׁעָזַב למַסְעוֹתָיו,
נִדְמֶה כִּי סִכּוּיֵי־חָיָיו שֶׁל הַשְּׁבִיל
הוֹלְכִים וְנוֹדְפִים מִיּוֹם לְיוֹם.
וַאֲנִי תָּהִיתִי:
הַאִם אֶצְעַד פְּנִימָה
אֶל תּוֹךְ הַיַּעַר?
וְאִם אֶצְעַד,
הַאִם אוּכַל לַחֲזֹר?
הַאִם בִּכְלָל אֶרְצֶה?
About The Illustrator
Tali Gensheft is an Israeli illustrator and animator. In 2020, she graduated from the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design animation program. Tali's works have appeared in music videos, web series, posters, and more.
Tali designed and illustrated all the illustrations in the book "Mountains and Hills," including the book cover.
