In memory of the victims of the Hamas terrorist attack on October 7th, 2023.
May they rest in peace.
And you shall tell your son and daughter
About those who call for their slaughter,
That in each path that they might choose,
Some will hate them ‘cause they’re Jews.
And you shall tell your boy, your son,
There’s nothing new under the sun.
Those who were once Egyptians, Greeks,
The death of Jews, they always seek.
And to your girl that’s on your lap,
Please tell her all about the traps,
About the men who look so kind,
With her demise filling their minds.
And if they try to understand,
And if they ask to take a stand,
Don’t try to reason or explain
You know it’ll just cause them more pain.
Make sure they’re safe, make sure they’re warm,
And help them rest and keep them calm,
Although it makes no sense at all,
They are strong, like titanium walls.
Don’t let them weep or call surrender,
Make sure that they always remember
That somehow, through the worst of years,
The Jews are still here, we’re still here.
